Blending folk, rock, soul, country, and indie, Billy Moody's sound could never be classified into a specific genre. "It's always been difficult to write within the limits of one genre when there's so much to be inspired by," says Moody. For Billy, when it comes to writing, what matters most are strong melody, honest and insightful lyrics, and a soulful, visceral sound that resonates with his audience.
Hailing from outside Boston, Massachusetts, Billy grew up to a wide array of musical influences, most notably Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Cat Stevens, Nirvana, and James Taylor. This was the core group that put Billy on his songwriting journey and eventually into the Boston music scene. Since 2011, Billy began experimenting with different sounds, songwriting styles, and playing with different bands and musicians that would eventually shape Billy's sound to what it is today: an eclectic, modern blend of folk, blues, and indie rock.
With two full length LPs in the books, Billy continues his musical journey with his third and most defining record, CONDITION, produced and engineered by Brian Charles at Zippah Recording in Brighton, MA. The album is slated to be be released fall of 2021and so far has already been revered by local Boston musicians and reputable industry executives.
